Several years back a close friend of mine and I were walking in Edmonds after a trip to the fabulous independent art store, ArtSpot. We came across a fenced-in lot along Main Street with signage indicating the future home of art studios for rent. We both agreed dreamily "That would be so cool!" and immediately went on with our days not thinking much more of it.

Well, long story short, in March after getting on the mailing list for these in-progress studios, I was alerted to an open house/info meeting at the new building whereupon interested parties could apply for actual studio space there. The building was GORGEOUS and the folks hosting the event were super gracious and welcoming. I fell immediately in love and applied that very evening.

A day or so later I received the email: they wanted to interview me for a space! I was excited, but didn't want to get my hopes up - the studios were kind of pricey, and would I really make any money? Was this all just a pipe dream?

The interview was even more warm and welcoming. Apparently I was a great fit because shortly thereafter I was offered a shared studio space with another artist. We met via email and clicked immediately. After a bit of reality checking in with my other half, we decided to go for it.

I signed a year long lease for space in Studio 3 at Graphite Studios on March 1.

So far I've been trying to get into the studio at least twice a week, more if I can help it. The space is amazing. It's open and bright and everyone is amazingly awesome. It's already feeling like a fantastic little art family. I'm so happy. It's wonderful.

We had our first Art Walk in April, and it was a doozy! It was our first real open to the public kind of event, and people were chomping at the bit to see the new digs. It was an overwhelmingly positive response.

Going forward you can find us open to the public on Third Thursdays as part of Art Walk Edmonds. More open dates will be available soon, as will other fun events and classes. For now, interested parties can get in touch with any of the artists to come visit. We're all happy to accommodate and show folks the space.

Our address is 202 Main St Edmonds, WA.

Our website (still a work in progress) is here. Stay tuned for more as we evolve and grow!

It's been a crazy couple of years!

I thought it was high time to get back on the horse and update my website and blog. Here are some things I've been up to.

I've been working on developing my art style and incorporating a lot more pen and ink into my work. I've taken several classes with good friend and fellow artist Maja Serada and have been making progress on this goal.

Even with Covid, I managed to travel a wee bit over the past two years. Washington ocean beaches, San Francisco, Lopez Island were all welcome getaways.

Art retreat with buddies to Lopez Island.

My family joined a local wildlife camera field study to determine the use of natural areas by native mammals! It's been such fun checking to see who visits when we're not around to watch.

There is still much more to come, and hopefully I'll have more to update here frequently! Stay tuned. <3

March will start the spring season off strong here in Crumb Art Land!

First several of my pieces will be up at Gallery North in Edmonds for their Small Works show. I'll be there along with this selection of little birds. The opening reception is March 7 from 1-4pm. The show runs March 1 - 30.

Second I am proud to be a part of downtown Bothell's brand new Art Walk! I will be utilizing the awesome space at one of my family's favorite haunts: Zulu's Board Game Cafe on March 12 from 5-8 pm. I'm currently in the planning stages of which pieces will be on display, but it looks likely that I'll at least have my Disney movie inspired paintings there!

Hope to see you soon at one of these fun events!
